Thanks in advance for the help.
I have had a 2011 135i Convertible for a couple of years now. Love driving it. A blub issue came up.
1. Right "bulb" went out. Halos still work
2. Wasn't the bulb, my local Bimmer Shop said it was the Adaptive Module... about $550 to fix. Shop ordered part and started the work.
3. Shop opened it up and the Headlight Assembly had water, etc. in it. Shop suggested new Headlight and parts - $2,800. (20% of car's value) Too rich for me.
4. I need advice on getting the right used or after-market part. The shop doesn't want to work with used parts, but may have agreed to it if I supply the part.
- I think a used one is more likely to have the control module and sounds easier than piecing together "new" replacement parts. There are a couple of options
- Shop says it'll still need the module and bulbs, etc.
Again, thanks in advance!!!
Tim
Tim, I believe you may be experiencing a very common issue with these cars, water getting into control module underneath the housing:
