Removing front thrust arms 2012 750Li XDrive

    Hi guys,

I need to replace the front thrust or control arms on my 2012 750Li Xdrive. The question I have is do I need to remove the front axle shaft in order to remove the arms? I am in the middle of it, and I don't see a way without removing it. Perhaps someone here has done it and can provide some guidance.

    Thanks,
    Raj

And the answer is yes. Remove the axle shaft from the wheel bearing assembly by removing the 17 mm hex bolt. Push the shaft out of the way and you can easily slide the thrust arm out. Just make sure you have a replacement axle bolt (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...bi-31206795249) as it is torqued to yield. Pretty easy job overall.

My bushings were toast. All cracked and separated.
