Z4 soft top doesn’t open

I have a 2004 Z4 with a soft top. I had Top Hydraulics rebuild the slave cylinders. I tested the top on the bench and it open and closes perfectly. I then installed it in the car. When I press the close button on the console, the top closes perfectly. However, when I press the open button on the console, the red light flashes but nothing happens. It doesn’t make a sound. I disconnected the pump electrical wire and verified that the pump opens and closes the top correctly.

How do I troubleshoot this?

I found the problem. The stowage base (storage shelf) was not installed so the microswitch was not depressed. I wedged a piece of wood in there for testing and now it works perfectly.
