2004 325xi. Replacing the right CV joint/Axle. Am going to replace the lower control arm since I am taking it loose and the car has 130k miles.
I also have a 2002 325i and have done lower control arm replacements on both sides of it. So, kind of knowledgeable at the job.
I have ordered the new parts and got under it today to start removal of old parts. There is a small arm/rod attached to the top side of the control arm. About 1/4 inch diameter. Only about 2-3 inches long.
Attaches to a moveable lever that goes into box above it that has an electrical connection. I've looked for quite some time and I think I have found that it is for the adaptive headlights.
I can't find any parts or diagrams anywhere showing this part or any reference to it. The new control arm does not seem to have any place or fitting to attach it to.
Any guidance here? Is there a control arm part specific to this feature? I didn't want to disassemble any further not knowing if I have the correct control arm or not.
Thanks,
John.
