Doing some clean up under the driver dash/steering column to finally rid of an annoying steering wheel squeak.
Figured it be a good time to tackle some of the play on the pedals. Curious if should go oem or upgraded like brass or Delrin?
I noticed my brake pedal especially has a lot of lateral play. Not sure if it is by design or not.
Either. …Delrin probably has better self lubricating properties.

I did the oil-impregnated bronze bushings from Ireland Engineering, if I recall correctly. It took some slop out, but not entirely.
The general consensus to get the clutch pedal back to where it ought to be, a replacement pedal assembly itself with new bushings is the best course of action. I'd assume it's the same with the brake pedal.
There's a "short throw" pedal assembly from Mason Engineering that some people recommended, but I don't have any experience with it.

I replaced the pedal and went with a bronze bushing as well. Of course I did a whole lot of other things too down there. Here is the part in my thread where I list what I replaced, including part numbers.
Just scroll past the starter and transmission/engine mounts.
