    Question Help Identifying Part

I removed the panel beneath the glove box to run a speaker wire to the speaker in the kick panel. When I removed the panel, a white plastic piece fell out (see photo). I don't know what it is, where it belongs, or how to reinstall it. Any help would be appreciated.

    You have a 2012 Z4, do you also have a Z3? This is a Z3 forum.

Is that a BMW part? Does it have any part number on it?

Have you tried looking at realoem.com? You know where it came from, so that should help with realoem.

    Anyway, I'll guess it's a lifter

There is no part number nor any other markings of any kind - which does make me wonder if it is a non-BMW thing.

I looked for it under Heating and Air Conditioning; Instruments, Measuring Systems; Audio, Navigation, Electrical Systems; and Lighting but couldn't find anything that looked like the part.

It's hard to get an idea of scale. It looked small by the weave of that material in the background. I've had my glove box out and don't recognize this piece.

I think that piece slides into the tube that draws fresh air from the cabin into the "e-box" under the hood. I've had a few fall on me like that. No idea what it's intention was, so I don't feel like there's any need to worry about it.

Yup, that's it. Passenger side footwell, look up to see the duct.

This keeps cool air on the ECU, and its pointed down so condensation doesn't get pulled into the ECU box... I guess.
White is Right, Steel Grey is OK, but Estoril is the only color that truly matters.

    I like Coupes.
