Just picked up a 2000 Z3 and when I depress the DSC ( Dynamic Stability Control)button, the indicator light does not illuminate. I assume that the DSC is not working. Fuse is intact. Not sure where else to look for issues. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
If DSC was not working, you'd have a lot more lights.
Do all the usual lights come on during initial turning the key?

Also, that button is there to turn off DSC intervention.

If the light is not on, and does not come on when you push the button, there are two likely explanations. First, the light was on due to system failure and someone removed it. Or as was the case when I bought my coupe, the light had been on due to system failure for so long that it burned out.

I am assuming it is the light as well. There's an easy and fun test to see if DSC is working, though...
The button when pushed does not display lighted symbol on instrument display where it does when turning the ignition to on position, so I know the light works, but when vehicle is running and or moving, when I depress button, it does not disengage DSC and display symbol. Am I missing something?
Maybe the button's not plugged in, or faulty. Can you get your hand through the gear stick gaitor hole and push it out?
I pulled the plug and it’s all connected. It does not light upon turning key to start like I thought.
Can you easily spin the tires from a standing stop? Or break the rear end loose in a turn? If not, I would say your DSC is working as it should.
Of course, that is in my M ;-)
