Hello, can you please help me identify what's this clunking/ticking noise coming from under the car. As you can hear it increases with RPM. It stops after while then it starts again and the cycle repeats. Thanks for your help in advance.

Manual or auto? Which engine?
Sounds mechanical, and engine related though. :/
Sounds like your hydraulic lifter(s) have collapsed.

Hey, it is manual m50b20.
I'm currently running on 10w40, i'll try 5w50 then.
Was the recording made with the clutch engaged?
No, it was in neutral.
Right, but was your foot off the clutch?

Yes, ofcourse.
No change in the sound when you keep it in neutral but have your foot ON the clutch?
No, it doesn't affect the sound it makes. I'm 99% sure it is the hydraulic valve lifter. Well i just bought the liqui moly thing, i'll see if it helps if not then i'll try thicker oil. Anyways thank you for the help.
Yep. If the clutch in or out makes no difference, the only other easy ‘test’ would be to take the accessory belt off and run to see if it goes away. If the noise is still there then yep, its likely in the motor. :/
Cams rotate at half the crank speed, so comparing rpm v. freq of the noise also help pinpoint.
