    Fuel filter cover

    Hey all,

The fuel filter cover for my car ('95 325is part # 51718193898) is NLA from BMW. Does anyone know if any newer part number is still available and will fit? Mine is completely missing except for a small chunk. It must've been wiped out by highway debris.

    Thanks

here is a used one, pretty expensive https://www.ebay.com/itm/165816733230
p/n is not replaced by another p/n, but part NLA. Maybe you could try to make one DIY from aluminium sheet

Use google for your area to find junk yards. Call them to see if they have e36's and then go there to remove the part.

There are people on this forum that are 'parting out' their car, you can ask there or post a request for the part. include a pic of what it looks like, so just copy the pic from the ebay listing that shogun posted.
Attn. NEWBIES: Use the search feature, 98% has already been discussed.
Click the search button, select "search single content type", select the "e36 sub forum" specifically, try the "search titles" then try the "search entire posts".

Good find but yeah a bit too pricey for what it is. Not sure what you mean exactly by bolded portion. I was thinking more if, for example, the e46 fuel filter cover (different part #) also fit or required some simple modification to fit. DIY could be done too.

Yeah, I frequent the junk yards around here regularly. Main issue is that e36s are getting scarce these days. Used to be ~8 years ago the yards were full of them. Maybe because I moved out of SoCal. Definitely will check part-outs too, good idea.
