Hi all! Brand new 1984 633CSi (with AT) owner (and new forum member ) here in southern Oregon, looking forward to addressing various issues on my new to me beauty Shark! First order of business: can anyone suggest a proper manual for this car (paper, not PDF or internet linked), including wiring diagrams, service instructions, maintenance info, etc.? Also: any suggestions for knowledgeable shops or technicians in the area?
TIA

I'd definitely get the proper BMW electrical troubleshooting manual (ETM) at a minimum. Those are functional PDFs, not image grabs, easily downloaded online at Miller Performance here. The Bentley Book is excellent as well, best to buy a copy of the E28 version, I don't believe they made a copy for the E24. That's gotten a little expensive over the years, but it is a first-rate reference. Haynes also makes a great reference book, but it's quite general, covering the 3- and 5-series in one large book. They're quite similar cars, admittedly. I couldn't find any easy download for the Haynes PDF, but I'm sure it's around somewhere.
While I love technology, I honestly prefer the Haynes & Bentley manuals as real books. It's easier to flip through the pages with greasy fingers than it is to manipulate a tablet or phone. A book will never have a cracked screen nor a dead battery. The ETM is best as a ring-bound pamphlet in the glove box.
The actual BMW Workshop manuals are out there somewhere, but I don't have any handy links.
Save the manuals!
