That's what P code 0733 translates to and what has appeared and spoiled my fun twice when putting my old heap('97 528ia) on the racetrack.
My theory is that the oil sloshes and the pick up is uncovered during hard cornering. Both tracks had very long right sweepers. A <200 h.p. 3600# car stuck in second gear makes the term "momentum car" the understatement of the year.
The first time this happened I wasn't sure the trans was filled properly. This time I am.
Once the car is shut off and rests all is well. ~30k miles between occurrances, trans operates perfectly otherwise. Gearshift was left is S3 to shift at its own leisurely pace.
Any thoughts?

I'm assuming it's the same tranny I had in my 528 before swap, GM Auto 4 speed made in France?
People scoff at it for not being sophisticated as ZF 5 speed, but it's very durable.
I had 160k on mine before swap and it was running perfect.

All due to the ever helpful Bavarians telling the customer to never change the oil in them. This one currently has 182 k and aside these episodes works flawlessly. It is, of course regularly serviced.
Mrs. Ross' car had 265 and still going strong when sold last year.
And, folks may say what they like about GM but the HydraMatics were FAR ahead of anything Europe had to offfer. Just ask Rolls Royce or Ferrari

Does my theory about aeration make sense to you guys?

Sure. High fluid level will make foaming worse, as fluid will expand into rotating drums, but low fluid will suffer cavitation. Pick one!
More trans cooler, or just use that other car.
Not enough room for past/present garage

No thoughts on the tranny.
A friend had one like yours and a guy our son took me to yesterday has a few in his shop.

Red one looks like a March FA, a step up from FC. I think the green one might be a Lotus 61 FF. Mine slots in between those.
Given my druthers I'd own Lotus 51 FF because such classic looks.
