I bought a 1984 318i a couple months back. I have been trying to get it to run since I bought.
This car was manufactured 03/84. According to the Bentley manual, my car should come with injectors 0 280 150 704, those have a black connector, but
my car currently has 0 280 150 211, a blue connector.
I called my local BMW dealership and they gave me part number 13 64 12 79 665
Now, I have spark, I have fuel delivery, and my timing is correct.
The blue connector injectors won't fire though.
I have followed every step on the Bentley manual to test injectors and ECU.
The blue injectors have the correct resistance, they receive voltage too from ECU. I checked this with a noid light,
The don't receive much voltage though. I am not sure how much as my battery is dying and I need to recharge it but last time I checked, they where getting 2 volts.
The manual says that when i crank, I should have positive voltage, and I do have positive voltage at the connector, but does not specify how much voltage is required, or if it grounds to open.
By the way, injectors do not hum or vibrate when key is on, engine off.
I cannot find how much voltage they should receive, or if these injectors won't work with my car.
If I do need to replace them, can someone help me find a website, or a set of the correct injectors?
Use the last seven characters of the VIN in www.realoem.com and look at the various part diagrams to find the correct OE part number.
The correct one is the first part mentioned. That is not what i'm asking.
I am asking if this issue is due to the wrong injectors, or if my voltage should be 12 when cranking/running.
If it is because of the wrong injectors, I cannot find that specific part number on FCP euro, pellican parts.
So if someone has extra ones, or knows of a good junkyard to sort them from, I may got that direction and send them for a rebuild.
The injectors should be receiving 12V and and then fire when grounded.
Realoem for your build date indicates the following
3641279665
Injection valve
From:01/01/1983To:12/11/2010(ENDED)
Superseded by: 13641706162
So look for 13641706162 unless I am reading the Supersession info wrong
Though from the above post voltage is most likely the issue. It is pretty unlikely to have ALL the injectors fail at once.

The BMW number is 13 64 1 279 665 as stated, the Bosch (oem supplier) number is 0 280 150 211. But other aftermarket injectors are also available (i.e. Standard).
Does this mean my car should run fine with either the blue or black/grey connector injector?
My problem would be the voltage then, most likely my ECU, I did a compression test yesterday and got 80psi. The car has been sitting for over a decade though.
I will charge the battery, a quick valve adjustment and do a compression test again, see what I come up with. The engine sounds good when cranking though so I am sure it needs valve adjustment.
If am not receiving 12V to injector, should I replace the ECU? are there any other reasons why I would have low voltage?
If the car had be sitting that long I would have recommended squirting some Marvels Mystery Oil into each cylinder and turning the engine over a few times by hand without spark plugs. Drain old oil. Then remove the valve cover and pour some motor oil over the valve train, replace filter and refill oil. Compression should be around 150 psi. IIRC the ECU grounds the injectors to get them to spray. The injectors receive voltage from terminal 87 of the fuel pump relay.
Yes add some oil to the top end and turn the engine over a few time.
Make sure the battery is full charged….and holding that charge
