    M5xB28t + GS5-37DZ in e36

Hi all, been a while since I have posted. My turbo motor build was previously very slow moving, until now!

My M50 block and B28 rotating assembly with forged rods and pistons is currently getting balanced and machined, but I have found bargain here in Australia for a GS5-37DZ manual gearbox and bought it (never delivered here in aus).

Car originally was an auto 95’ 328 - I had bought Poly mounts to put back in with the auto trans until I found an m3 box to put in (trans mounts match up from what I know as long as it’s E36).

Now, I know that the GS5-37DZ mounts directly to the M50 block without a plate in between, but has anyone done this previously? Will my E36 poly mounts work or will I need a different solution.

    Thanks in advance guys!

The GS6-37DZ doesn't mate up with the M50 without an adapter plate, it's a diesel tranny and it's at an angle.
The models ending with BZ will fit just fine, they're the gasoline version.

The GS6-53 diesel trans fits the angled M50/S50/M52/S52 with no adapter. The regular gas version needs an adapter though some are now installing without one but not using all the bolt holes. Don’t know anything about the GS6-37DZ though,

It does mate up without an adapter, it is just clocked around at about 15 degrees from vertical. The BZ box is fine though and doesn't have the low 1st and 2nd that the DZ box has. Winning.

There are two types of gs6-37's for gasoline engines. The N5x generation models and the M5x generation. The M5x was used on E46 and Z4 6 speeds and bolts on directly to any M50/M52/M54/S54
