Been so long since I've posted here. Have hobbied E36, E39 but now own X5 2013 with 155K miles. I'm on the road sales type and love the ride. I've maintained it well and aesthetically it is still in great shape considering it's age.
Just learned I've got a leak in the turbocharger, coolant reservoir, and power steering. $8K to fix. Probably 2 years from retiring and want this to help me cross the finish line. Last thing I want to do, if I have the choice, is to buy another SUV at this stage in my life.
So my question: Assuming I make the repairs, what else goes wrong on these models as we get into really high mileage, say the 200K to 225K range, and how expensive do the repairs get?
Would love to hear from folks that have been there. Thanks.

There's no doubt it's going to be a gamble trying to get the car to 250k miles without spending much more money. I'd wager odds aren't in your favor, but as with anything you never know. Sorry I don't know specific issues with that year car. You have some minor leaks and already looking at $8k, but I'd imagine there's threads and articles with issues to look out for for this generation. My mom has a low mileage 2013 x5 and I have an 03 x5. I just can't imagine hers making it 20 yrs...well see.
I had similar situation with my '01 E53 but fate helped me out. Deer killed my e53 at 205k and I took the settlement from insurance and another 5k and turned it into a 2011 e70 35i with 144k.
I wouldn't recommend deer hunting but see what CarMax would offer you. Maybe you can find a solution similar to me target than spend so much on that high of mileage.
Well as much as I wanted to avoid it I'm just going to trade it in on something newer to me and adding a decent warranty. Just too much of a downside to risk. It served me very well but the new one will be fun...X6!
