    Poly bushings torque settings

    Hello all,

I'm just about done installing poly bushings ony '78 320i. When looking around the website I see suggestions to use factory specs and then suggestions to tighten till they bulge a bit and stop there.

Is there a consensus on this? I've done a bit of each depending on how much they compress. Although I have to admit I don't think I've gotten to factory settings on any of them as the bushings seem to deform too much well before that.

    Thanks for any information.

    Regards
    Dave

Which bushings did you replace? And of those, which one(s) are having issues with tightening the fasteners?

For the poly bushings I have replaced, I always used the factory torque specs to tighten them, and assumed that the poly bushing designers would have assumed the same thing. You can always try contacting the company who makes the bushings and ask them.
