Possible to use floor shift & not the shift lever on engine conversion?

Hi I'm currently converting my BMW E63 which used N52B30 to a N62B44 from an BMW E66, which used shift lever but my mechanic says i have to use that also on my currently being converted BMW E63 but i want the floor shift. Can still use the floor shift or there are some parts i have to purchase in order to use the floor shift? Because i'm used to floor shift of my BMW E63.
