Engine had been running great
No warning…getting spark- all coils okay.
Have fuel pressure at Schrader valve
No kick at all with starting fluid.
Cam timing is correct at TDC.
I had another engine so I swapped cam and crank sensors… no change- throwing code for cam signal and cam duration.
Would a stuck vanos solenoid cause this.??
What is your fuel pressure at the schrader valve? Are the spark plugs wet with fuel after cranking?
No, bad VANOS solenoids won’t cause a crank no start.
By “swapped sensors” did you mean between two engines, like for like, or swapped between crank and cam? If your tach reads steady ~200 rpm while cranking, or that rpm is shown on a scan tool, crank sensor is fine. Crank sensor can be tough to install and seat properly from underneath, so verify the wire connection is secure.
Cam timing codes imply a cam sensor issue, but could be phaser or even chain in worst case. Need data.

Read codes and do some live data logging with a BMW capable tool?
