I have a 2020 M4 Heritage (F82) that I take to the track. Came with:
- 265/30R20-Front
- 285/30R20-Rear.
The car's understeer combined with my lack of driving ability (improving, but still needs a lot of work) greatly reduces front tire life ... much faster than the rear. To try to reduce the understeer, I am thinking of putting same size tires on front and back. Fronts need to be replaced now, Rears are OK.
Question

  • Does anyone know if 285's can be put on the front?
  • Any positives or negatives noted or expected?
  • Has anyone done this? If yes, any insight into performance differences?
  • Any other recommendations about reducing understeer, perhaps by using 275 tires both front/back? Or 265s on rear if larger ones won't fit on the front?

Thanks for any insights.
