840 6-Speed Manual conversion kit

Well, here it is guys!! Everything you need to turn your 840 into a 6-Speed manual. 95% BMW Genuine parts. The only thing you need to supply is a modified drive shaft and labor to install.

I used Olin Johnson’s parts list and have been collecting for the past almost 2 years. Getrag 420g sourced from e39 with just over 100k miles.

I’ve got about $4K invested.

It’s kinda hard without a car. Someone wanted it as an auto, so poof, it’s gone. I would maybe save it for another, but I don’t know when that will be.

3.15 lsd is the perfect option to pair with a manual swap!

I had a 3:15 already installed. Yes, perfect combo! If you’re handy, Labor is not difficult. Olin did his in 2 days!!

Reading up on this from Olin's thread. Argggh my next project was to refresh the whole suspension as I have all the parts from Wokke. I'll circle back.

I have the 3.15 LS and it is perfect - same gearing as E39 M5. Although, I did have another person (who is very skilled) doing the job with me.

I also have a 404 DME if you want to get rid of the EWS II and use some more performance oriented chips!!

I was thinking about this earlier when reviewing the swap thread. Swapping the 404 in I’m assuming makes it easier so nothing has to be fooled into thinking the auto trans is no longer there

Also allows you to swap chips easily for performance and CA Smog legal (if that matters)
