Hey guys, so i was trying to make a little project for having an internal obd scanner inside my car as an on the go diagnostics and looking up at the live data, unfortunately they dont connect...
So for starters, my obd port works, i have bmw scanner, it works flawlessly, but the other 2 dont, ive tested on my buddys E39 2.5i and they both work (mine is 2.5d) so im a little confused for why my car couldnt talk with the obds besides bmw scanner.
anyone have ideas on what can be causing this ? is it bad obds ? or something to do with wrong wiring ?
The worst version is always the cheapest. Not in your example, but idiots who are all driving around with Bluetooth versions that allow anyone to hack their cars and the 5g systems to read you as you wiz by at speed. Wait until the revenue wiz in local governments figure out that access can be used to fine you for violating a stop sign, right on red, speed zone enforcement, and bill you for driving on a road. Tax per mile with your non green car….

Well, im not concerned about hacking, its more of a aditional gauges that you can lookup anywhere and anytime, im looking for answers as to why they dont work. Do they need specific chips or something that i dont understand ? Ive read on some forums that obds needs to be with 232RL chips ? Is that correct or just a myth ?
