hello,

Been having problems withthe VANOS ever since i had my timing chain replaced about 6 months ago. The car only had 45K miles on it and the chain adjusters broke apart as they are prone to do on these N20 engines. I don't know if the VANOS issue is related or not.

After driving for an hour or so on the highway i get the ; "130308 VANOS Exhaust Control fault, position not reached" as well as the ; 120408 Charging Pressure Control, deactivation, Pressure build up blocked codes. I guess one affects the other. I don't have that issue with city driving

On the VANOS, I switched around the actuators (just the electro-magnets) but had the same problem. I also bench tested them and they both are good.

Recently had the mechanic change the central VANOS exhaust valve ($800) but that did not rectify anything.

Im going to try an oill flush and changing up to Liqui Moly 5w-40 LL-01 form the current oil im using (Castrol 0W-40 LL-04). Its a long shot but an economical approach.

Other than that..Im looking for whatever suggestions that might be out there.

Thank You
