Question E36 328 very rough start and idle

I have a 1995 E36 328is, it usually starts without problems, but since 2 days it went a little rough. After the first try everything would shut down, but when I tried again it would turn on right away.
But today it didn't work on the second try either, it took me 4 or 5 shots to get it running with a very rough idle which it usually doesn't do either.

    Anyone got a clue?

So it looks like its either a weak battery, weak starter, or loose/corroded engine ground strap (under the exhaust manifold for US e36's).

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when only turning the ignition on? it will only do it for a second or two.
