cant u just get a SULEV fuel pump from a junkyard and just cut a round hole in the sealed gas
talk and just replace it with the fuel pump from the junkyard ???
Then seal it with gas tank sealer .
just curious
this way you dont have to remove the gas tank.
junkyard have many SULEV gas tanks.
but they are mostly in Cali and can be expensive to transport.
so if u just replace the bad pump inside . . .
Sure, you could do that but then you'd have a used Fuel Pump and no clear way of knowing how long it may last. And if the car isn't obviously wrecked, it could have ended up in the wrecking yard because of the Fuel Pump.
There is a write-up on another forum about converting the fuel system but it's not a DIY for the newbie to even consider.
