trans failsafe - recommended Nocal indies?

So my 98 e38 Dinan went into transmission failsafe with the wheel speed sensor errors and what not. Car sluggish on the line, yadda yadda. Anyone got a recommended shop or transmission supplier for a rebuild/replacement in the San Francisco Bay Area, ideally in the East Bay, Dublin/Pleasanton area?

Times are tough so look for something economical.

    Thanks!

TransFailSafe doesn't always mean there is something wrong with the transmission. Wheel speed sensors or even a weak battery can cause this condition. Have you had the car diagnosed by a reputable shop?

Not yet but I changed all four wheels speed sensors a couple weeks ago, battery is a year old, new fluid, filter, and gear selector gasket etc.

Gear shifts have been going clunk for a while so I knew it would go at some point soon.

Ahhh. 'Clunk' is another story. I'm a midwest guy so can't help you with shops but best of luck. Keep us updated.

Huh, well before I dumped more money into it I did a little more troubleshooting. Cleared the codes and took it for a short drive and it’s back without the trans failure. Good have to drive it a bit more to figure this out
