E36 Pilot Hole Drill Bit Size for T-20 Sunroof Screws?

Deleted sunroof assembly on my track car. Need to drill holes in aluminum strips to hold panel in and in the thin roof channels for the screws to screw into.

If you buy a tap and bit set for whatever size the screws are, that would be the safest bet for machine-threaded screws.

If the T20's are sheetmetal screws, you don't have to care, just make a pinhole and make it slightly bigger till you can (very tightly, barely) send the screw home.

Thanks! It’s the OE screws that were already holding the panel into the cassette.

I just picked up some M4 or M5 hex button fasteners and re-used the OEM holes.
