Hello everyone! I wanted to get advice wether or not I should take my car into a repair shop for certain codes that popped up. The codes are as follows…
190302
Diagnostic Module For Tank Leaks (NVLD), Fuel Tank Ve ntilation System, Micro-Leak: Leakage Larger Than 0.5 mm
Intermittent
140010
Combustion Misfires, Several Cylinders: Detected
140110
Combustion Misfire, Cylinder 1: Detected
140001
Misfire, Several Cylinders: Fuel Injection Is Cut Out
140101
Misfire, Cylinder 1: Fuel Injection Is Cut Out
CDA904
No Message (Status Of Trailer, 0x2E4), DME Receiver, A HM Transmitter
Symptoms are shaking when initial starting of vehicle then once running after a few seconds the shaking stops. For reference I had my timing chain replaced a month ago due to failure. Also had the complete valve cover assembly replaced as recommended by shop because of a whining noise (assuming to be bad PCV). After all this was set and done the shop said the car was all good to drive. Later that day I got a “drivetrain malfunction” pop up as well as codes reading misfires plus a Wastegate error. I had another person check it out and determined that it was the “Wastegate Actuator” so we swapped that out. Cleared the codes and then the codes above popped up.
Now I’m wondering if I should go to another shop or check/change anything myself to hopefully save some money. If anyone can help or share some knowledge on this issue it would greatly appreciated. If there’s any details that I’ve missed that could help determine the cause of these problems let me know.
Unfortunately it's hard to tell if there were previous lingering issues or caused by the shop's labor.
Did the car ever run right after the work?
How many miles on the car? When were the spark plugs or coils changed last?

- No, I got the car back from the shop claiming there wouldn’t be any issues, that same day my car went into limp mode. That’s when I got misfire codes and a Wastegate code. I called a family mechanic who came by and changed the Wastegate actuator. Which cleared the misfire codes (which was on almost all cylinders) but then I got the codes as stated above. The car has 130,000 miles and I replaced just the spark plugs around 110,000.
Today I actually opened the hood and found what is seems to be rat or some type of animal poop around the engine bay. I’m wondering if any wires have been damaged because of how long the car has been sitting (6months).
Im definitely leaning towards taking it into a shop but do you think I should order some coils and try that beforehand? Would in theory a bad coil/coils cause more than a misfire and lead to the code for the tank leaks?
