New to this forum... and also new to BMW cars.
My 2019 BMW 440i xDrive Cabriolet has a rather large, empty, space between the speedo and rpm dials. There must be a way to put some information in that space, no?
I've searched through the iDrive menus and can't seem to figure out what all that empty space is for!
Has anyone managed to utilize that space to display meaningful stuff?
If so, please clue me in. Thanks.
There’s more than one cluster…you give no info as to which one you have… but the space it appears you’re referring to…is filled with warning lights & informational digital display. Do you have a digital or analog display? If analog…not sure your can put anything there if there’s no digital display to code or add data.
A - LOW CLUSTER
B - HIGH CLUSTER

It is a digital display, but mine doesn't look like A nor B.
Here's what it looks like. And you are right, when I start the car that empty space fills up with all kinds of
warning lights (I guess they are being tested) and then they disappear.

You have a 6WB option, which is the full LCD cluster. This is an extremely desirable option.
It should have a lot of configuration in idrive, but the extra space is reserved for error "lights" otherwise. Your music may (or may not) show there.
In the next chassis, G-chassis, the clusters started adding part of the navigation maps there and it's very very busy and distracting.
Clean looks amazing.

Thanks. I will go through iDrive again and see what I can find.
This cluster looks very nice at night, when it switches to red.
And yes I must admit, it does look clean without distractions - perhaps I should just be happy with that and forget about displaying anything in that space!
