'03 wagon, when I push the wiper stalk, the rear wiper does the full half twist as expected, but it stays there until I pull the stalk to it's original position, at which point the wiper returns to its starting position. It will never perform a full right twist/left twist cycle without my manually moving the stalk in both directions. Is there a limit switch or a sensor in the motor that isn't reading properly? I wouldn't think it's a wiring issue since it technically works.

The pin in my silver wagons rear wiper arm fell out a while ago. This is the pin that goes into the hole in the wiper motors output pad, you see it when you open the glass hatch. The pin fell out, and I put it somewhere, where? Lol, it’s a mystery to me right now. Anyway, I tried looking for the diagram on the rear wiper drive on realoem, and can’t seem to find it, I’m starting to get pissed. Maybe I’ll have to just fabricate the pin and JBWeld the sucker back on. I really don’t want to go that route, if anyone finds it on realoem, post a link!

Yep, I’ll do the same out here, but E39’s are scarce in the local yards out here, wagons, have not seen any but the two that I have.

a few years ago, we had 3 in a row at our LKQ, one with the black sport interior in damn good shape that I pulled for $300. Everything but the carpet and main lower trunk panel. I have a small list of parts I'd pull if I found another.

You are looking for part 61627067893. I am having a similar issue; the pin is still there, but the spring is gone. Anyway, the part is still available new for around a hundred bones. Not enough of an issue for me to start tearing into yet, especially considering it's a hundred bones I could put toward more fun things.
Dude! Thanks for that!!! I’m gunna order it.
