Anyone in NJ for a prepurchase inspection?

Good morning to all. I am very seriously looking at a 1989 735i. One owner, clean carfax, reportedly 32K miles. Dealer says "everything works." Being that it's in NJ, I am concerned about rust. Dealer states it was only a weekend car driven in nice weather.

Is there anyone up there who known these cars well who can take a look? Obviously I will pay for a formal inspection. Otherwise I'll call the local BMW dealer and ask if they know anyone up there.

Where in NJ is the car located? I have an independent shop in Morristown, NJ (Shade Tree Garage, www.shadetreegarage.com), I'd be happy to do the PPI for you, we specialize in all European cars new and old, the e32 isn't a problem, I owned a 1990 at one point as well.

Hello everyone,
The seller wants his mechanic to make the repairs at the same price (it's a fair price), but I'm a little worried about that main seal in particular. I don't want them to try to tell me it was fixed if it wasn't, or that it was the oil pan and not the main seal at all. Do I take it back to the independent mechanic prior to purchasing? The independent mechanic did say it was a good car, and that he would buy it if he were me.
