    Bosch DME 474 (1996+ 540i, E39, M62) with DUDMD Stage 1 Tune

Hello, I have a recently tuned Bosch ECU, Part # 261 203 474 / 261203474 ECU with a Stage 1 DUDMD Tune and the EWS delete applied.

It was intended for a M62 engine swap but have since decided to go with a standalone Link ECU instead. Never got used.

I'd like to get out of it what the tune cost $615, also open to reasonable offers.

Will try to post image in reply (seems to not be working on initial post).

Any interest? I'd be open to $200.

Hi there. I am interested in your ECU. What does a stage 1 tune entail from these guys? I guess that's an ambiguous question. Is it anywhere near the Dinan stage11 pre-vanos tune? i am have-ing a horrible time getting a pre-vanos Stage11 tune from Dinan. The Dinan people told me in Hillboro Oregon that it was the early cable-ing that they could not connect with, in your experience is that even feasable? ( have I ever gotten the run-around on this issue as), I have the correct early Dinan cold air package but, cannot get the proper tune. Apparently one will not work without the other. Where in Oregon do you live?

I have no idea on that to be honest. There is more information here:

I'm in Portland, OR. I had this flashed primarily for the EWS delete, but included stage 1 since it was basically part of that. Someone else might be more familiar with DUDMD's tuning.

Hi again. Is this tune for a standard or an automatic?

That is a good question. This DME was bought with the engine as a set for my swap, but I didn't end up using the engine (but had already had the EWS delete done). So without the car it came from, I can't be certain on manual/auto. The VIN is on the picture of the ECU, though it appears the VIN decoders don't show manual/auto?

I'm willing to accept a return on it less shipping if you want to try it out.

I will try and contact DUDMD on Monday and, see if they can research their records if I give them the invoice number.
    Appreciate the offer.

    Called DUDMD

Called DUDMD and, they cannot determine whether the ECU was flashed for a standard or an automatic. The only thing I can think of is to send the ECU to DUDMD (I'll pay the shipping) and, have them see what the set up is. Did you say you got an engine/ECU package? If so, what was on the engine for a flywheel (a companion flange or a proper flywheel?). Also the fellow at DUDMD said the auto car wire-ing harness on auto car will have a secondary harness that goes to the transmission computer. Any ideas on how we determine what transmission this flash was for?

The engine had a manual flywheel, so that's probably likely a manual.

I'm fine with shipping it to them if you buy it from me.

    Change of plans

Everything sounds great if, it came with a flywheel as, mine is a standard also. The fellow at DUDMD said, their would be big issues if it was flashed for a standard and, was fitted to an automatic car. With a manual being flashed for an auto it wouldn't be as bad, although, some error codes would flash. Does you "try before you buy" offer still stand? I live in Victoria and, will ask you to ship to Blaine WA.

Yeah, I can accept a return less shipping if it doesn't work out. Interested in selling it, but not if it doesn't work out for some reason. PM me for details and we can go from there.
