New owner 2008 X5 3.si headlight question & warning light

Howdy everyone,
I just purchased my X5 last weekend and the warning orange light has come on already. What does this mean? I’m waiting for my manual to arrive in the mail so hoping for help.
I also was out driving today and the headlights won’t turn on. They are manual on the lower left side which I find strange since everything else in the car is not manual. The side and fog lights turn on but not headlight. It’s sunny today. Does it not turn on because of that and senses only turning on at night.
Car drives excellent.
Really hope I made the right decision buying this beautiful vehicle….

First buy a Foxwell Scanner and find out what is tripping the "orange light". The manual may be available here online: https://manual-directory.com/manual/...owners-manual/

if it truly is a manual switch they should come on regardless of light level outside.

there's multiple 'warning' lights for headlamps. Can you describe what it looks like ?
