So I'm trying to find a fix myself before going to an independent mechanic just because I am trying to learn about cars myself.
2012 BMW 328i F30 N20 with 160,000
Problems:
P0171 and P0055 codes
Really really rough cold start and idle
Revs fine and can drive but is really jerky and when coming to a stop or lowers RPM really struggles and sometimes stalls at stop lights.
Any idea where to start?
Plan to replace ignition coils, sparkplugs, turbo inlet pipe and charge pipe. aAnd oil filter housing gaskets because its dumping oil from there. `Other than that I am lost haha

I would start with reading BMW manufacturer codes (not P codes!) and then running some live logging of some of the sensors, including fuel pressures, MAF flow, etc.

Looks and sounds like an air leak to me. I was not a fan of the N20 when I worked on BMWs and we generally didnt see them with that mileage so I cant with 100% certainty recommend something like I could with an N55 or B58, but id definitely look for air leaks. BMW PCV systems are bad so I would start there, check the diaphragm for leaks buy just plugging its vacuum connector with your hand and see if its pulling air, the engine should also run better when you do this.
