E46 Clearance space for 2 din radio install

Hey there,

I'm looking for a radio to install in my new e46 318 ci.

The dimensions of the head unit (Pioneer SPH-DA360DAB) are:


I wonder if there it is shallow enough so i dont have to cut into the air ducts since i dont want to do that at all.

I had a Alpine Ilx-W650 shallow depth radio that's 75mm deep and it fit fine with a Metra dash kit; they made 2 for the E46, one you had to cut the ducts for a full depth Double DIN radio, the other you didn't but it stuck out really far from the rest of the dash and looks a bit ridiculous. With either you have to move the climate controls down to the lower dash and remove the storage cubby above the options buttons (heated seats, convertible top and DSC.)
