Go ahead and laugh. I've got cats that keep jumping on the car and I'm tired of taking the cover off and on every time I take the car out. The thought behind it is to deter them from jumping up. V1 just the tubing was a fail. V2 slowed them down but then they were jumping over the back. V3 with the cardboard overhang has been cat free for three days now.

That is hilarious. My cat got into my basement garage one night and walked all over my car. I spent an afternoon removing swirl marks from the paint. Got a cover after that.
Is the cover really less work than the Apollo-13-tribute?

I read your post to my wife. I showed her the photos and of course she said the cover is MUCH easier!! HOWEVER I empathize with you getting the cover on in tight quarters. I share your issues. Let me know when you go into production so I can buy one.
Putting the cover over it is the better option. After all they do protect it from the mice don't they?
