Hi Gang,
I just was changing my battery for the redeye garage Optima conversion and saw some light rust. Id like to respray it (already did the rust treatment) and am wondering what color it is? (My car is a tecnoviolet, but for sure thats not the interior, its like a darkish gray)
TIA
Alex

Thanks - will go look for a spray can.
Was that changed in the 96 and later M3s? My 95 is the same color in the battery area as the rest of the car (Avus Blue).

Weird, my 97 is color matched with no clear coat

When and where BMW did this is better refined by them. Meaning, it's not weird... it's just the way they are and they'll never give out details on which cars had what.
a 1997 318ti has completely color matched wheel wells and underside. A considerably more expensive M3 does not (though some do have fully matched wheel wells).
There are plenty of things that do not make sense.

Ah yes, the way he wrote his post made me think his is TV, but reading it again, could be any color.
It also doesn’t make any sense. If anyone had TV with colormatched base paint, the base paint should be ‘some’ violet.
