hi guys, i have a e36 320i m50b20. I just scanned my car for faults and found that my crankshaft position sensor is faulty. I was wondering if hot weather and traffic could make the faulty sensor to misfire+lose power? or is that leaning towards a fuel pump issue? because I can't listen to any whines from the fuel pump therefore unsure of which part to replace first.
Yes, the sensor can be heat effected. Best to properly diagnose before throwing parts at it.
