Hello guys
I'm looking for help I have a E30 318i and i want to swap it to a 325 using either a M20B25 or a M50B25 whichever one is more favored or good and has less work.
I would like a detailed list of what I'd exactly need for the swap, it's not a racing car or spinning I just want a basic 325i motor in my car to sound and feel like it.
I'm open to any other suggestions.
Welcome!
This should have some good info

Getting an M20 engine in there is easier for the maintenance imo, because you can just use E30 parts.
The extra power of an M52B28 engine makes it a more fun swap.
If you're not really looking for a faster car I wouldn't bother swapping any engines though.
Thank you for the advice, I want the M20 engine sound and just a bit of power not really crazy about it being the fastest I just want the sound at most
In my opinion you'll be best off getting a open/mushroom air intake then. Most people call it a Cold Air Intake (while it's actually gathering more warm air from underneath the hood).
It'll give a fuller engine sound and exhaust tone at full throttle. Don't expect any performance gains from it though.
You could also change the exhaust for something louder, but to me that always just sounds like a loud exhaust.
Doing both will still be much much cheaper and easier than changing the engine.
