    Emergency flasher door lock switch

    I hate Mondays.

Yesterday I was driving to pick up my lady for a romantic lunch. As I pulled up to her office, I reached over to unlock the door. As I pushed the button under the gear shift, I felt a pop and the switch popped backwards and out of the trim.

I've looked around YouTube, but I've only found videos involving changing the shifter on a manual transmission. I really don't want to remove the shifter knob and leather piece if I can avoid it. Is it possible to pop up the plastic trim without removing the other parts first?

    Thanks!

Yes, you will have to pry up that panel around the shifter, the switch actually installs from the front but there is a little ledge the switch sits on and it is probably broken now.
You'll have to glue that ledge back on then reinstall the switch, it is not well designed, mine broke as well.

Given the plastic panel is scarred up (previous owner's purse) I may look around to see if I can still buy a NOS replacement.
