Goodmorning
In Europe it is not possible anymore to get the front engine cover. This was my third one and the quality is poor. Is there somebody making them them trought 3D print with a better quality? Thanks
No longer made. Entire E31 community have been waiting for this to be re-released.
On the other hand - if anyone has perhaps a broken one which I could have to create a 3D model, maybe we could just start printing our own instead of waiting for BMW to make these again. Please PM me if you have one I could scan. Thanks!

The issue is two-fold on this piece. One, the bottom half is made of thin plastic which gets brittle over time. The second is that the top half is rubber, which is molded into the bottom hard plastic half. Put these together, and it would be difficult to duplicate.

A solution the molded rubber is simple to me. 3D printed plastic base with a rubber seal similar to the cowl seal. I could see people calling it an eyesore, but the function would be same.
Buy the 3D printed base and get a cowl/door/trunk seal from literally any car anywhere and retain the function of the OEM piece.
You can have this 3D printed with the same function, where base is rigid plastic, and top portion is soft flexible plastic, or even rubber. Not a problem at all. I just need a part to scan - I can't find even broken one for sale. If you have one old/broken to donate to the cause - please let me know.

Yes, I will be able to print the whole thing. And no, I don't need new one, that's what modeling software is for. I just need old piece to take measurements/scan general dimensions.
Ever? That's fine. I'm not asking, if anything I was offering to make new part a lot of people want, so yeah, that's cool.

Will need to use different fillaments, but definitely can be done.

First prototype. Made from Nylon-11. Does the top need to be made out of rubber?
Oh, snap - that's fantastic! Is this 3D printed or moulded? Can't tell from the pic.
Top doesn't have to be made from rubber, just need to be flexible enough. One other criteria is it has to be heat-resistant, as it gets quite hot inside that engine bay.
You can probably go with some TPU/TPE fillaments, or even flexible resins.

Wow that looks really great. I'm sure you could charge good money for those once you get to a more refined example!
