Catch hood

Good morning everybody

Yesterday I changed the cable between the both front catches from the hood because this one was damaged and I thought this was the reason because the hood was not popping up when pulling the cable at the drivers side. Now it is opening like before. So when I pull the cable it is only opening at the right side and the when I push a bit the hood I pull once more the cable and than the other side I opening also.

If you see the picture in attach could somebody tell me if the cables all well placed? ( I think so ). What I see at both cathes is that the stopbuffer is totaly disapeared after 32 years. Could this be the reason that the hood is not popping up anymore as normal?

Could someone advise me?

I am having the same exact problem with mine. If you pull the hood release, you still have to grab under the edge to pull it up enough for the tabs to pop out, and usually only the right side releases, and you have to pull the interior handle a second time to get the left one to release.
