Hello - 2010 328i SULEV 97K miles. I did the oil pan gasket and since I was there I decided to do the water pump and thermostat.
All OEM
Water pump
Themostat
Curved hose from one to the other
Upper and lower hoses
Bottom temp sensor
Non OEM overflow tank - a mistake, kept giving me the coolant level error. Replace with OEM. Lesson learned.
Now I am running hot - 200 to to 236 F. It seems to not kick in the fan until about 210 then there is a lag before it takes effect. Highest temp has been 137.6. Could the lower temp sensor be faulty? I am getting this from one of those BT OBD readers. Any other ideas?
Thanks
Elevate the front of the car bring up to temp and bleed the air out of the system.
Semi related note Where is the source of the O-rings for the crazy water hose connections. Certainly I don't need to buy a whole new hose assembly because the o-ring failed. Thankfully I did not throw away the upper hose when I did this job 4 years ago. I went to all the autoparts stores in town and nobody has either small or large o-ring.
Early 95 Hellrot M3, AST 4100 SA coil over shocks, 550 front 650 rear springs, TMS Bars, Vorshlag camber plates. OBX headers, 3" single mid pipe, UCC cat back, Active Autowerks chip. CAI,
I resorted to Harbor Freight for a pack-o-orings. The heater hose connecting to the upper radiator hose leaked after replacing the upper hose - I measured about .01" diameter smaller pipe onthe new one. But,also, the oring probably was not as pliant as new. One of the orings in the $9.97 pack worked like a charm. I can't say whether others will work, but $10 is cheap fix.
