I have an BMW e36 (1992) 4-door. Recently it has started to make a hissing noise coming from the trunk when the car is turned off. The sound starts at a random time and only stops when I open the trunk. It managed to find the fuse that makes the noise stop and its the fuse nr 7. It is amongst others the fuse that controls the theift alarm and central-lock. After a couple of days of sounding the battery is completely drained.
Noteworthy is the fact that the earlier owners claimed to have disconected the central lock and theift alarm but apparently not on all of the fuses but rather from the battery it seems. The electric central lock is atleast not working at all.
Does anyone have any ideas of what could be sounding frpm the trunk and draining the battery?
I will update if i solve this issue.
Melvin,
You posted this question in the "Common problems" sub-forum, and likely nobody has seen it. You ought to delete this thread and re-create it in the main e36 forum. I suspect you'll get some responses if you do.
