Hello everyone.
Is there one or two soft close motor for the rear hatch? One side of the hatch doesn't seem to close completely. Thanks.
One catch in the centre so it shouldn't sit one way or the other - I would check for obstructions and the adjustable stops set in into the frame of the tailgate aperture first.

No alignment changes where the hatch is bolted to the hinges?
From your pictures, I think you have a physical obstruction preventing your hatch from fully closing. Did you install OEM struts or cheap knock-offs? It may also be possible that the right strut is incorrectly installed.
I had this ( Boston and NY car ) - the hinge pin rusted and broke. - new ( used ) hinges solved it.
I used Stabilus, I guess there quality is not it's use to be. sQUOTE=Frankie;30855785]From your pictures, I think you have a physical obstruction preventing your hatch from fully closing. When I installed them the pins weren't rusted or anything, but that was 6 months ago, I will have to investigate after the rain stops. Thanks.
If you can take the right side gas strut out, and see if it lines up better.
Stabilus is an OE supplier.
According to FCP Euro, Stabilus is made in Romania.
Not going to argue. I think I see Stabilus on mine. I’m a million years old. I’ve been using Stabilus since 1980. I’ll check what mine say
Yes, back in the days, Stabilus were made in Germany, but now the quality just not the same, now the hatch is already feeling heavy again.
When closed is that right side solid or does it move down if you press down on it?
It's solid, when you close the hatch, you let it "drop", and then, the motor will pull it shut, mine only pulls on the left side leaving the right side like in the picture.
It’s in the center - the motor pulls - the left is correct, so it line up. There is something preventing the right side from closing all the way. Did you look at the small bushings in the hatch frame? ( on the body )
Had a chance to look at the hatch earlier today, nothing is obstructing the hatch from closing all the way, I'm buying a new strut. Thank you so much everyone for your answers.
Take the right strut out, and let it close. If your strut is the issue, it will be evident. Be careful- the gate needs both to be there - it will hit you with just one.
Either the latch is mounted too far to the left, causing the tailgate to tuck down angled to the right, if that makes sense to any of you, basically, loosen up the latch a bit, keep it snug, but loose enough so that the tailgate slides it over to the right spot, or the tailgate is mounted hight on the right side hinge, compared to the left side hinge.

I understand your suggestion, but I don’t think he messed with the hinge alignment. If he takes the right side strut out, he should also check if the hinge is damaged. I’m in NY, and the left one broke with the pin rusting out.
I could have sworn op had mentioned hinge replacement? I may be thinking of a different thread. I was on vacation when this thread was started.
