E12 Solex 4a1 automatic choke

Hi,

I have a 520/6 with carb which has difficulties to start when cold. I'm not a mechanic, but my hunch is that the auto choke doesn't work well. Looking at the adjuster, i feel like there is a part missing; the lever can be put in a fixed position on which the adjuster has no influence. See picture. Anyone experience with this, or can share a picture of his choke mechanism?
