Hey im doing a manual swap on my 1999 528i which is a 12/98 built 528ia. I was wanting to do this the easiest and fastest way and was thinking if bypassing the NSS from the stock auto system would be easier to get the car started and able to rev up normally, rather then rewiring a bunch of things as-well as having to recode the car. and tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. PS beginning to pull the auto trans out this sunday.
I man-swapped an ‘03 530i.
I coded out the clutch safety switch using NCS expert - it’s not used on European cars..you can look it up.
BUT you MUST wire in the cruise control switch or you will have a rev hang…
I would NOT rush or hack thru your manual swap. Do it right… it’s mechanical, electrical, coding…
