Are all ATE brake masters the same bolt pattern (distance) and bolt diameter? They're basically all interchangeable?

Measure your e36 one ... I have a couple e46 ones laying around I can check tomorrow. I'd bet e30/e36/e46 are all the same.

The E46 m/c has ports for pressure sensors. However, no idea about internal dimensions. Then, there is the matter of the reservoirs fitting.

Not all of them. And they can easily be plugged. Anyway, just offering possible options if the guy wants ATE. Otherwise, just roll with the SuperChinese brands.

Snaponbob, have you installed the rockauto MC? I'm curious how it worked out for you. I'm about to be in the same boat looking for a new MC.

It worked. Life cycle? Who knows. Summit Racing has one. Listed for an OBD1 M3, but the same. Different brand, but who knows.
