The rocker panel on my 88 M6 is obviously the color of the car but this lip was black when I bought the car. Is it suppose to be black? Also, this hole at the front of the rocker, open or am I missing a plug (I probed and there is no drain tube that I can feel ).

My 88 M6 still wears its factory paint. I’ll check the color of the lop but it’s in the shop this week. If I head up to check on it tomorrow I’ll let you know. If not tomorrow, then will only be end of next week. if no one else has chimed in by then will let you know then.
As for that hole I believe you may be missing a plug/cap, I don’t recall ever seeing any hole on mine but vaguely recall a round capped hole color matched to the paint. Again will all check this when looking at the lip.

Hi Rob,
The rocker on my 6 was always black. I believe the front
drain hose of the sunroof exits above that hole. Many have
extended the hose to exit past the hole.
You and family have a great Holiday Season. Hope we can do an "Idiotfeast" in 2023.

Thanks Max and Bob. Black on my 635 but then my 635 is schwartz anyway. I have had the cover plate behind the wheel off and there is no drain tube, I did figure this is for the sunroof drain.
I just want to put it back to OEM, small winter project.
Yes, to all, have a great holiday and I do miss my IdiotFest pals, especially the man with the cigar and scotch.

Now I know why your car is Bronzit!

Black. Used some heavy duty flexible clear tubing. I slipped ti over the original tubes and extended them to exit below the rockers. Did the same on the rears
