    disassembly assistance please....

I'm just a mechanic wannabe, so bear with me, if these are dumb questions....

I'm trying to remove the cylinder head, so I have to remove the intake manifold. I have been trying to follow step by step with the Haynes manual but I don't what are half the things they are naming (i.e. pressure converter, vacuum regulator, mixture regulator Venturi, etc....)

attached is a quick drawing of the area I'm looking at.
If you were removing the cylinder head, in what order would you disassemble the intake side?
all the way from the intake pipe that connects to the airbox, up to the manifold.

    -Thanks for any help.

    Cool

battery disconnected, Take the brace bar down, disconnect the WOT switches on the brace bar, Remove the big rubber air boot- there is a plastic plug on the back side where two hoses join-pull the hoses off of it, disconnect the hose to the brake booster, remove the gas pedal cable by loosening the circular nuts and be careful with the parts. I 'd drain the oil and coolant first off. Quite a few steps.

Ok sounds good. I have that battery out, and coolant is drained. haven't drained oil yet.
But I'm not sure what you talking about a "brace bar"? Can you describe the part?
I will try and do the steps you mention and see how far I get. Thanks.

The "brace bar" is a rod near where the accelerator cable goes in from the driver side that goes from the intake down to the block for support. It will look something like this and will have a switch and maybe a sensor on it. That needs to get unbolted from the intake to be able to move the intake or remove it entirely. Also don't forget to unbolt where the dipstick mounts to the intake as well.

    Cool

Instead of circular nuts the hex nuts that hold the accelerator cable, connects to the butterfly valve( air flap) and gas pedal--- you can see it in amarino's picture to the right of the red diagram on the brace bar and the wide open throttle (WOT) switches .
