Ultimately I'm trying to get the lower timing cover off. To do that, the alternator bracket need to come off (my understanding).
The alternator bracket on my '81 is different than the one shown in the Haynes manual.
I can see there is one more bolt, I have to get, in the back of the bracket, going into the block.
It is buried under the oil filter mount. I removed two bolts in the filter mount, but it doesn't budge. Is there another bolt I can't see.
I don't think I can remove the fuel distributor until I get the alternator bracket off, does that need to come off to remove the filter mount?
-Thanks

I believe the oil filter mount has 3 bolts. You can see here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/125118918031

It has been a while but I don’t remember having to remove the alt bracket to get the oil filter housing off the block. I could be wrong though. LoL

Nevermind, I got it. I didn't think there was enough room to get the bolt out of the bracket, and clear the filter housing.

sounds like you got it off, but try not to break it, these are fragile alloy and are NLA new. Ask me how I know...
