    Coupe sunroof seal/weatherstripping

    Hello all,
Anyone know if the external sunroof seal (the one on the glass) is replaceable on the coupe? I'm working on resurrecting a barn find 00 M Coupe and that seal is badly deteriorated. I found part #54108411998 which is supposedly a sunroof seal, but I think it might be the internal one.

This car was left sitting outside in a jungle in FL for the last 10 years, so all the rubber is bad and the interior is fried.

    Thanks!

I’m pretty sure that the rubber edge is part of the glass its self. Maybe you need to look for a better used sunroof glass?

Appears to be a separate gasket:

But, of course I can't find an image of the glass itself, so could be just as OP fears. Also, for $75, I'd gamble.

That gasket fits on the body sunroof opening. The sunroof glass has a “soft” edge that I believe is what the original post is referring to.
Thats why I was suggesting finding a good used glass panel. The actual prices of parts are often double, or more, than those shown on RealOEM.

Yeah I follow. I looked at mine closely yesterday. It'd almost be worth a shot pulling the glass and taking it somewhere. There's some amazing work out there. Of course, if OP can find another panel, that's easier. But, that's not easy.

Thanks for the help guys. I did some more checking, and indeed, the rubber is part of the glass panel itself unfortunately. I may have to just live with it or luck into a good used one from a wrecked car.

    Thanks

I have a spare sunroof I've been keeping for a project. I believe has a good condition "stripping" on it. Shipping would be complicated from CO to VA. I may be able to swap yours for mine with my project still in mind. Shoot me your email details and maybe we can work something out.

I looked out of curiosity and surprisingly there are still 25 of these available in Germany. None in the states. If you're willing to shell out around $600 for it.
